Artist Communities Alliance (ACA) builds connections among people who work in the artist residency field and the arts sector at-large through programming, convenings and our member network.

All staff of residencies, organizations and programs that are members of ACA have access to our networking program, #ResidenciesConnect. In these networking sessions, participants convene in virtual breakout rooms organized by topics such as program context, structure, and identity, and have an opportunity to build community with peers.

We also facilitate opportunities for connectivity that do not depend on membership status. The Directory can be used as a tool to find and connect with other programs and organizations engaged in the artist residency field.

  • Users can optimize the search functions within the Residency Programs page to find programs in similar locations, with similar structures, or for similar audiences.

  • The Organizations page can be used to find other organizations within the broad arts ecosystem to partner with — through collaboration, funding opportunities, and other types of exchange.

  • The Job Board is a space to search for opportunities to find roles within the artist residency field, as well as a resource to stay updated about changes within peer organizations.

The Strengthening Your Equitable Capacity workshops provide another opportunity for knowledge-sharing and community-building among members and non-members. During these paid three-hour workshops, participants have the opportunity to convene and collaborate with colleagues across the field.
