Interwoven invites artists working with natural materials and processes to come together in an immersive setting, engaging with the landscape and stories of the island. The residency will focus on sustainable craft traditions such as spoon carving, loom weaving, willow and dogwood basketry, natural pigment making, painting, fabric dyeing, broom making, and natural sculpture. 

This residency will bring together up to 18 artists to explore how craft, ecology, and place intersect. Participants will work with natural materials sourced ethically from the landscape, engage in skill-sharing, and create works that reflect the rhythms, resilience, and interconnectivity of the island’s ecosystems.

The Pezzolo Creative Immersion is an intensive training residency for artists eager to refine their craft. Join leading practitioners in Sicily for a 1 - 2 week immersive workshop designed to deepen creative skills and artistic practice. These workshops are scheduled at set points throughout the year, and will be offered in a variety of creative disciplines. With hands-on learning, guided mentorship, and curated cultural experiences, this residency offers a unique opportunity for professional development in a breathtaking setting. Open to artists at all levels; a participation fee is required to attend.

PHOTOGRAPHY RESIDENCY

An art residency provides the technical conditions, time, and space to develop ideas and try new approaches. It is a moment that promotes connection between artists from different backgrounds and consequently the exchange of knowledge and experiences.

Aviário Studio Photography Residency aims to promote the production and dissemination of Photography in its different forms and aesthetics. Artists are invited to focus on their work in a creative and encouraging environment.

We offer the conditions to test possibilities and materialize ideas. On one hand, it can be a moment of transition, more connected to experimentation and research; on the other hand, it can be the point of consolidation of a project translated into the production of a new body of work.

A North Carolina Choreographic Fellowship (NCCF) in Dance provides immersive creative time and space to select North Carolina based dance artists.

Launched in 2023, and available to North Carolina choreographers and dancemakers, awardees receive the rare opportunity of uninterrupted time and space in an inspiring setting to create their next great work, along with a variety of supportive financial benefits.

The length of the Fellowship is seven to nine days and the choreographer can be joined by 1-4 additional dancers/collaborators. Due to shifts in funding, we will support up to three Fellowships either in late August-September 2025, or late May-June 2026. Specific dates WITHIN those timeframes can be somewhat flexible. Priority for NCCF awardees is given to artists who are at a catalytic point in their artistic career and are actively incubating a new project for future public presentation.

Fellowship Benefits Include:

• $1,000 honorarium
• Private lodging for up to five artists in a combination of the Trillium Arts Artist Suite and other cabins that are within walking distance. Trillium is located in a beautiful setting on 22 acres in the Blue Ridge Mountains in Mars Hill, NC (30 minutes north of Asheville).
• Rehearsal space in the Red Barn Studio at Odonata Farm
• Welcome dinner with your hosts
• Per diems for up to five artists
• Shared use of the grounds, including firepit, hot tub and waterfall area
• Use of a variety of supplies and onsite creative spaces that include a contemplation gazebo

Sheepscot Arts Preserve is a new artist residency center that is dedicated to supporting Visionary, Outsider and Narrative (Visual) Artists of all disciplines with an emphasis on visual artists. We are located on 42 beautiful acres bordering the Sheepscot River in Alna, Maine. The center provides group and individual artist residencies, free of cost. We also provide some, to all, of the meals depending on the type of residency you attend. We especially encourage self-taught artists and marginalized artists to apply but welcome everyone who feels as if our residency is the right fit.

Our housing includes year round yurts, an off-grid cabin, and bedrooms in the 1800's farmhouse. Each artist has their own studio space to work and access to all communal areas on the property. Our studio spaces change depending on the needs of the artists in residence but are located throughout the different buildings on the property, including the yurts and the large timber frame barn. We are in a quiet rural area and  have hiking trails that wind throughout the property. 

We offer stipends to offset the cost of travel/loss of work for those who can't attend without one.

We have a suggested donation to cover our costs but our program is free to all, and your choice of donation is not part of our selection process.

This is a live/work residency that is embedded in a small (9-room) hospitality business called Travelers New Orleans. New Orleans, like most cities, has become increasingly unaffordable for artists and others who seek to live creatively. At Travelers New Orleans, artists are provided housing on the third (top) level of a light-filled three-bedroom, two-bath apartment in the Lower Garden District neighborhood. A fourth room is available for office/limited studio space. Artists help run the hospitality business by committing to work about 15 (paid) hours per week, and the hospitality business, in turn, funds the residency. Hours may vary depending on season, but 15 is a solid average. Artists are encouraged to create onsite (there are some space limitations) and there are opportunities to showcase work in the lobby gallery, which looks on out world-famous Magazine Street. The goal of this residency is to provide an affordable, creative, supportive environment for artists at any stage of their careers. 

Since its creation 50 years ago, the Fine Arts Work Center Fellowship has become one of the leading residency programs in the world. 

Each year, the Work Center offers 20 seven-month residencies to a juried group of emerging visual artists, fiction writers, and poets. Each Fellow receives an apartment, a studio (for visual artists), and a monthly stipend of $1,250 plus an exit stipend of $1,000. Residencies run from October 1 through April 30. During this time, Fellows have the opportunity to pursue their work independently in a diverse and supportive community of peers. 

The Fine Arts Work Center has hosted more than 1,000 Fellows since 1968, nurturing an accomplished and far-reaching alumni network. The impact of the experience is best illustrated by the extensive list of awards Fellows have gone on to win, including the Guggenheim Fellowship, MacArthur Fellowship, Prix de Rome, Pulitzer Prize, and the Nobel Prize in Literature.
