The Truro Clay Works Artist Residency invites three ceramicists to join our creative community for a one-year term starting October 5 of 2026. Residents live in a large fully furnished communal home with private bedrooms, two full shared bathrooms, living room, laundry room, pantry and kitchen. There is 24-hour access to a separate and fully equipped communal ceramic studio on site. This is a great opportunity for an artist to explore a new body of work or collaboration. The residency is designed for independent artists who appreciate both quiet focus and a shared creative environment — a place where craft, nature, and community intersect. We welcome ceramic artists of all backgrounds and approaches — from functional pottery to sculptural and experimental work.

Artists with experience in glaze chemistry, gas kiln oxidation and reduction firing and/or skills teaching hand building are particularly encouraged to apply.

This residency is ideal for those seeking dedicated studio time within a supportive, relaxed environment surrounded by nature. Applicants must be self motivated and independent in their personal studio practices as well as being community minded.

Fees are $1,500 per month, which includes housing, utilities, full access to the studio and 50lbs of clay each month. Additional clay can be purchased at cost.

Residents are expected to contribute an exchange of 16 hours per month, approximately 4 hours per week, toward the shared operations of Truro Clay Works.

Trinacria Festival Residency

Messina, ME, Italy

The Trinacria Festival Residency is a 3-week, community-centered program designed for professional artists whose work directly engages the Pezzolo community. The dates of the program are July 24 - August 13, 2026.

We will select five to six artists or small collectives (no more than 3 collaborators) whose practices engage with Pezzolo in thoughtful and meaningful ways—through collaboration, cultural exchange, site-responsive work, or processes shaped by dialogue with the village and its landscape.

Selected artists will develop individual projects (new or evolving) that culminate in a public presentation at the annual Trinacria Arts Festival. Community engagement and participation is at the core of this Festival.

Artists will receive:

  • A structured residency environment
  • Regular group sharings and workshops
  • Accommodation and meals
  • Local transportation support
  • Workspace
  • A small materials budget
  • Support in developing a public presentation for the festival

The experience offers artists the opportunity to create in a dynamic environment while fostering meaningful connections with the local community.  It is ideal for artists excited by community connection, interdisciplinary exchange, and the challenge of shaping a new or evolving work toward a shared public moment.

Additional Accessibility Information
  • Mobility: Our residency takes place in a village that is over 800 years old and was built on a mountainside. Unfortunately, many parts of the village are only accessible by footpath or stairs. The living quarters of Casa Trinacria can only be accessed by stairs.
  • Distance: The village of Pezzolo is separated from surrounding towns by a winding drive up a mountain road. This road is 7km long and takes approx. 15 - 20 minutes to drive. It may be challenging for inexperienced drivers or those who experience motion sickness.
  • Amenities: There is only one business remaining open in Pezzolo, which is a small butcher shop. The butcher shop also stocks a few other dry goods, such as pasta, rice, canned goods, beer, cleaning supplies, and other necessities. There is also a small pharmacy which operates on very limited hours. For all other amenities (such as grocery stores, supply shops, post office, ATM, etc.), it is necessary to drive to nearby towns, a drive which takes at least 15 - 20 min in both directions. Artists are encouraged to keep this in mind in their planning.
  • Wildlife: There are several colonies of feral cats living in Pezzolo. Other local wildlife include small lizards and geckos. Mosquitos are common in the summer. Less commonly seen, but still present in the local area, are garden snakes, hedgehogs, bats, owls, and even occasionally wild boar.
  • Heat: Summer in Sicily is extremely dry, hot, and sunny. Hydration and sun protection are essential. Artists are encouraged to always pack refillable water bottles, sunscreen, and protective coverings such as hats. Tap water in Pezzolo is potable, and there are additional public drinking fountains throughout the village, directly from fresh mountain spring sources, where bottles can be refilled.

Pezzolo Retreat Residency

Messina, ME, Italy

The Pezzolo Retreat Residency is a self-directed creative retreat designed for artists seeking uninterrupted time and space to explore, rest, and experiment.

The residency is designed to provide time, space, and freedom, allowing each participant to set their own goals and rhythms.

Open to individual artists or small groups of up to three collaborators, across any discipline—visual arts, performing arts, writing, music, dance, or interdisciplinary practices.

We encourage applicants who:

  • Value self-directed, reflective, and experimental work.
  • Are curious, open, and respectful of a shared residency environment.
  • Appreciate slowing down and engaging deeply with their process, rather than focusing on a finished product.
  • May wish to share their work informally with fellow residents or the local community, though this is entirely optional.
  • Are inspired by natural surroundings and a remote village setting, and who might draw creatively from this unique context.

There are no strict requirements for public presentations or collaborative outcomes, besides a final reflection practice. Participants may choose to take part in a small, informal sharing if they so wish.

Dune Shack Residencies

Provincetown, MA, United States

The Provincetown Community Compact announces 2026 dune shack residency applications are now open for C-Scape and Fowler Dune Shacks in the Cape Cod National Seashore, available April through November. Applications are due January 15, 2026. thecompact.org/dune-shacks.html

This artist retreat is an experience of solitude, reflection and experimentation. Artist residencies take place in the C-Scape Dune shack, which does not have running water or electricity. There is a kitchen equipped with a gas stove and refrigerator, and kerosene lamps and portable solar lights for lighting. Phone service is inconsistent and there is no Wi-Fi.

We offer three 3-week visual artist residencies, one for an emerging artist of color* that includes a $500 fellowship, named for the late David Bethuel Jamieson, a Black artist who spent time in Provincetown and died of AIDS in 1992. Another top juried artist will receive a $500 fellowship with their residency.

The Compact also offers 1-week residencies for artists and the general public, and two 1-week funded residencies for writers.

*An emerging artist of color is defined as one who has yet to receive a major exhibition or showcasing opportunities and has not had extensive media coverage for their work. Artists of all ages may apply.

We also invite applicants to donate a voluntary "Honor Tax", which will be donated to the Native Land Conservancy, providing an opportunity to move beyond land acknowledgement.

Echo Artist Residency

Echo Artist Residency

Cleveland, OH, United States

The Echo Artist Residency Program invites two artists each quarter to experiment and create site-specific projects for our galleries and the greater Cleveland community. Each season, SPACES selects one local artist from Northeast Ohio—defined as Cuyahoga County and its contiguous counties: Lorain, Medina, Summit, Portage, Geauga, and Lake—and one artist from outside the region. These two artists form a peer cohort, fostering the exchange of ideas, techniques, and networks. While collaboration is not required, the selection committee seeks artists with complementary or intersecting themes to enhance dialogue and impact. SPACES encourages applicants to propose projects that push the boundaries of their artistic practice, and share an authentic connection to this region.

Benefits

  • An artist honorarium and production budget
  • Full use of SPACES’ production facilities and A/V equipment
  • Access to offsite maker spaces at no cost
  • Research support and curatorial guidance
  • On-site lodging in the gallery
  • A dedicated local artist ambassador to help foster genuine community connections
  • Opportunities to engage in local cultural experiences
  • Marketing and Press support, including a press release
  • An exhibition preview night with community arts leaders
  • A public exhibition opening reception

ELIGIBILITY: This call for proposals is open to artists and cultural producers who are 21 years and older. We accept applications from creative professionals at all stages of their careers who engage experimental practices with strong conceptual foundations. Selected artists cannot be enrolled in undergraduate or graduate degree granting programs during their program year.
SPACES prides itself on an ADA compliant building, with space for individuals and families alike. We will work with selected artists to find a residency plan that works for them.

EVALUATION: Applications are reviewed once each year. They are evaluated by a selections committee of artists, community members, board members, and SPACES staff living and working within and outside of Cleveland. The selections committee members change yearly.
Applications are scored based on compatibility with SPACES programming goals, demonstrated organizational and/or conceptual rigor, clarity of proposed methods, and quality of past work samples. Select applicants will be invited to participate in a video interview.  Finalists will be asked to confirm their availability.

Peace Retreats 2026: A Time for renewal & Being

New Orleans , LA, United States

This residency is designed for writers, readers, and dreamers seeking a period of stillness and reflection. It is not a residency focused on "doing," but rather on "being."

There are no workshops, readings, or set schedules - other than Sunday suppers. Participants are not expected to engage in any activities beyond their own prior expressed interest -- time can be spent on personal renewal and reflection. Residents are encouraged to write, journal, read, meditate, and reflect. The core purpose is to embrace stillness and allow the unique spirit of New Orleans to inspire and uplift you.

Participants will be provided with private bedrooms and access to common spaces, including a parlor reading room and a writing porch.

Additional Eligibility Information
  1. How long is the residency? The residency runs from a minimum of 1-7 days up to 14 days.
  2. What is the application deadline? The deadline is rolling. Accepted artists can confirm with administrators their preferred dates- confirmation is first come, first served. Once all spots have been filled, artists will be added to our wait list. Waitlist artists will be contacted in the order they applied if spots open up.
  3. If I’m accepted, what’s next? As soon as you’re approved for a spot and have completed the residency contract, you’ll choose your preferred dates from the availability calendar. We will send you a payment link to book your residency.
  4. How much is it?
A single resident's flat residency fee is $450 per week (artists can stay up to two weeks) for our standard room.
  5. The residency fee only covers one artist in attendance at our program. Artists who decide to stay less than a week are still charged the full weekly fee. No discounts are given for stays less than one week.
  6. Why do you charge a fee? Funding for the arts is at an all time low. In the past, The New Quorum was able to cover the expenses to offer residencies with no cost to artists. There is no profit built into our flat residency fee. We decided to offer residencies below cost because we know how expensive traveling can be and want to be accommodating to people regardless of financial status. We must charge to cover costs to run the program.
  7. Do you offer any supplies? We provide linens, towels, daily breakfast, coffee & tea, snacks, wi-fi, bicycles, climate control and space to sleep/work. If you are in residence on a Sunday - you are welcome to participate in a Sunday Supper bringing together artists and cultural figures in the New Orleans community. Artists must bring all other desired supplies.
  8. Do you pay for travel expenses? We cannot cover travel expenses unfortunately.
  9. Where are you located? The New Quorum is located on one of the quietest, most scenic and most historic major thoroughfares in New Orleans – Esplanade Avenue, a hidden treasure running through the heart of the Crescent City. From its beginning at the foot of the Mississippi River levee to its terminus at the entrance to City Park, Esplanade is best seen at a slow pace. The French Quarter is a 20-minute walk or 10 minute bike ride away.
  10. Will there be anyone there to help with questions or provide assistance? Gianna Chachere, Founder and Executive Director of The New Quorum is available to answer any and all questions.
  11. Is there a full kitchen available? Yes, the New Quorum has a full kitchen.
  12. Is there laundry? Yes, there is a washing machine and a dryer.
  13. Other things to note? We aim to provide a quiet, peaceful and restorative residency period for our artists. Quiet hours will be in effect from 9 pm - 8 am. Loud music or excessive noise at any time of day is discouraged. We do not permit partying, excessive drinking or smoking (vaping, cigarettes, cannabis) on the premises. Physical violence or verbal assault/threats towards fellow residents or staff are not permitted and will result in immediate expulsion. All accepted artists will need to sign a residency agreement to this effect prior to attending.
  14. Are there any expectations of artists while at the residency? No, artists have complete control over their own time during the residency. There is no work requirement or any other obligations. If an artist is interested in interacting with the local artist community, please note on your application
  15. Is there an application fee? No!
  16. When is the deadline to apply? Spots are available until filled. We keep a waiting list in case of last minute cancellations.
  17. Can I cancel and receive a refund? Artists may cancel one month (30 days) or more prior to their residency and receive a full refund OR reschedule for a later available date.
  18. How do I pay? We accept VENMO, paypal and check payments only.
  19. Can I pay in installments? No, not at this time unfortunately.
  20. Is the residency accessible? We do not have any accessible rooms at this time. This is a situation we are actively working on.
  21. Can I bring my pet? Unfortunately we do not allow pets.
  22. I have more questions, how can I reach you? Please email gianna@newquorum with any questions.

Deep Space Performance Residency

Highland Lake, NY, United States

DEEP SPACE is a performance residency program for artists and groups who are experimenting and making new works along the fringes of the mainstream. We believe performance that pushes the envelope in form and content requires time and space beyond what is customary, in order to allow artists to dig deeply into the processes of creation and production. DEEP SPACE provides artists with use of the NACL performance hall and artist residence for a period of rehearsal and development (one week residencies are typical, April-November) culminating in a public sharing with an invited audience.<br>

Deep Space Performance Residencies support artists or ensembles creating new works at any stage in the development process, from concept through technical production. Each year we attempt to schedule a mix of early-phase, mid-phase, and late-phase projects for week-long residencies at our Cultural Laboratory and Artist Residence in New York’s southwestern Catskills. We accept applications throughout the year. There is a Jan 31 deadline for consideration for residencies offered in the following calendar year. Our Curation Council — made up of past Deep Space artists and NACL artistic staff — convenes in March and finalizes programming decisions by May.

Additional Eligibility Information

The Deep Space program is open to groups or ensembles as well as individual performing artists engaged in the creation of new work. We prioritize projects that stand to gain the most from the resources of space and time that the NACL residency center uniquely provides. The Deep Space Residency Program is designed expressly to accommodate the needs of ensembles and group projects, and is inclined to support creator-performer, performer-driven, or collaborative creation models over standard script-based productions.

Fee Details

All residencies are partially-subsidized by NACL. The level of subsidy is based on fluctuating availability of public and private funding. Upon selection as a Deep Space Artist, the applicant will review the financial forecast with NACL staff, and may be asked to help raise funds to support a portion of their residency costs. Currently, at minimum, all artists/companies are responsible for arranging and funding their own transportation to/from NACL and for covering a portion of food costs at $12/person/day. The amount listed here is the current minimum fee for meals for each individual at the rate of $12 per day, based on a 7-day residency.
