Ma’s House’s Artist-In-Residency program is open to US-based creatives of color working in any genre of visual art, creative writing, and performance arts.

We encourage resident artists to pursue work that relates to or is inspired by Shinnecock’s history, the local landscape, community based work, and critical engagement in issues of diversity, race, and identity.

The Oolite Arts’ Studio Residency Program provides artists with the time, space and resources to reach new levels of excellence. Oolite Arts Studio Residents receive free studio space at the organization’s headquarters on Miami Beach, in addition to critical connections with arts leaders, exhibition opportunities and financial resources that can lead to career-changing opportunities, and a community where artists can learn from each other and experiment with new work.

Studio Residents who have lived in Miami-Dade County for at least two years will also receive the Knight Artist Housing Stipend, a $12,000-a-year stipend to ease the impact of the region’s affordability crisis, thanks to support from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation.

Newnan Art Rez offers residencies to emerging and mid-career artists from various disciplines so they can pursue their art away from everyday pressures while engaging in community experiences that enrich Newnan and Coweta County’s cultural environment. Art Rez encourages experimentation, development of new ideas, learning of new skills, and interaction with the community. Residency should be a time of rich exploration for the artist and the community.

The Leighton Artist Studios comprise nine distinct studios suitable for individual artists working in the following disciplines: 

• writing for stage and screen
• composing and songwriting
• literary arts
• visual arts
• critical and curatorial writing
• interdisciplinary practices not requiring technical support or equipment rental.  

A tenth studio, the Painter House, is suitable for groups of two to ten artists working collaboratively. Formal and informal collectives, ensembles, inter-disciplinary collaborators and Indigenous cultural groups are invited to apply for residencies at the Painter House. 

Leighton Studio residencies are geared to professional artists working on major research-creation projects or new bodies of work. The program is best suited to artists who are self-motivated, focused, and wanting time and space for introspection. 

Projects must fit within one of the artistic disciplines outlined above. The application must include a clearly articulated project description and a resume that demonstrates a strong record of accomplishment. Applications are externally adjudicated. Artists are selected on the basis of artistic merit. The program is highly competitive given the limited number of studios available. 

The Leighton Artist Studios do not provide access to external specialized production facilities or technical support.

Just like L’AiR Arts historical base at Atelier 11, our residency program mirrors the symbol for equality = a horizontal exchange between artists and cultural professionals from various cultural backgrounds, of different ages and genders, working in various disciplines and at all stages of their professional careers.

The purpose of L'AiR Arts multidisciplinary residency programs is to foster cross-cultural exchanges and collaborations between international artists and cultural professionals within the local art ecosystem. Located in Montparnasse, known as a historic hub for international artists in the beginning of the 20th century, the L’AiR Arts residency program grounds its commitment to contemporary arts within a historical perspective. 

Focusing on intercultural artistic exchange as the legacy of the École de Paris, the program offers an insider’s view into the important role that international artists have played in Paris from the late 19th century to the present day.

V4L initiates and facilitates customized creative residencies across all disciplines. Our focus is on identifying and addressing the themes of rural transition—through participatory research with creatives and communities in the exurban environment of the Shenandoah Valley (Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland.) Our approach is simultaneously artist-initiated and community-driven.

Our program is multi-locational—meaning that we partner to build a network of hosting locations and interested communities in which residents may engage, based on the artist or collective’s intended work.

Residents are given production help and space, administrative assistance, networking opportunities, as well as guidance on local customs and issues relating to contemporary rural life. Open to all artists, movers, scientists, farmers, historians, musicians, writers, journalists, filmmakers, and others.

The Tyler School of Art and Architecture at Temple University offers a five-month residency (January through May 2025) in the Art Department, which is composed of undergraduate and graduate degree programs in Ceramics, Fibers and Material Studies, Glass, Metals/Jewelry/CAD-CAM, Painting, Photography, Printmaking, and Sculpture. The residency will be awarded to an artist whose work is primarily focused on the history and lived experience of North American federally recognized tribal citizens and who exemplifies the art and activism of the artist Edgar Heap of Birds in bringing attention to the lives, struggles and triumphs of Native Americans. The artist in residence will have the opportunity to mentor and advise Tyler students. The residency will culminate in an exhibition to be held in the Edgar Heap of Birds Family Gallery in Temple Contemporary, Tyler’s center for exhibitions and public programs.

Residency includes:

• Individual studio
• 24-hour access to shared studio facilities and equipment
• $1,500 materials budget
• Opportunity to teach, mentor, and/or advise students
• Participation in a solo exhibition
• Stipend of $3,500 per month
