The Trinacria Festival Residency is a 3-week, community-centered program designed for professional artists whose work directly engages the Pezzolo community. The dates of the program are July 24 - August 13, 2026.

We will select five to six artists or small collectives (no more than 3 collaborators) whose practices engage with Pezzolo in thoughtful and meaningful ways—through collaboration, cultural exchange, site-responsive work, or processes shaped by dialogue with the village and its landscape.

Selected artists will develop individual projects (new or evolving) that culminate in a public presentation at the annual Trinacria Arts Festival. Community engagement and participation is at the core of this Festival. 

Artists will receive:

• A structured residency environment
• Regular group sharings and workshops
• Accommodation and meals
• Local transportation support
• Workspace
• A small materials budget
• Support in developing a public presentation for the festival

The experience offers artists the opportunity to create in a dynamic environment while fostering meaningful connections with the local community.  It is ideal for artists excited by community connection, interdisciplinary exchange, and the challenge of shaping a new or evolving work toward a shared public moment.

The Pezzolo Retreat Residency is a self-directed creative retreat designed for artists seeking uninterrupted time and space to explore, rest, and experiment. 

The residency is designed to provide time, space, and freedom, allowing each participant to set their own goals and rhythms.

Open to individual artists or small groups of up to three collaborators, across any discipline—visual arts, performing arts, writing, music, dance, or interdisciplinary practices. 

We encourage applicants who:

• Value self-directed, reflective, and experimental work.
• Are curious, open, and respectful of a shared residency environment.
• Appreciate slowing down and engaging deeply with their process, rather than focusing on a finished product.
• May wish to share their work informally with fellow residents or the local community, though this is entirely optional.
• Are inspired by natural surroundings and a remote village setting, and who might draw creatively from this unique context.

There are no strict requirements for public presentations or collaborative outcomes, besides a final reflection practice. Participants may choose to take part in a small, informal sharing if they so wish.  

The Provincetown Community Compact announces 2026 dune shack residency applications are now open for C-Scape and Fowler Dune Shacks in the Cape Cod National Seashore, available April through November. Applications are due January 15, 2026. thecompact.org/dune-shacks.html

This artist retreat is an experience of solitude, reflection and experimentation. Artist residencies take place in the C-Scape Dune shack, which does not have running water or electricity. There is a kitchen equipped with a gas stove and refrigerator, and kerosene lamps and portable solar lights for lighting. Phone service is inconsistent and there is no Wi-Fi.

We offer three 3-week visual artist residencies, one for an emerging artist of color* that includes a $500 fellowship, named for the late David Bethuel Jamieson, a Black artist who spent time in Provincetown and died of AIDS in 1992. Another top juried artist will receive a $500 fellowship with their residency. 

The Compact also offers 1-week residencies for artists and the general public, and two 1-week funded residencies for writers.

*An emerging artist of color is defined as one who has yet to receive a major exhibition or showcasing opportunities and has not had extensive media coverage for their work. Artists of all ages may apply.

We also invite applicants to donate a voluntary "Honor Tax", which will be donated to the Native Land Conservancy, providing an opportunity to move beyond land acknowledgement.

The Tyler School of Art and Architecture invites applications for a spring 2026 residency in the Art Department, which encompasses undergraduate and graduate programs in Ceramics, Fibers and Material Studies, Glass, Metals/Jewelry/CAD-CAM, Painting, Photography, Printmaking, and Sculpture. The residency duration is flexible, ranging from one to five months, and will be scheduled within the spring 2026 semester (January–May 2026) based on the selected artist’s availability. The residency will be awarded to an artist whose work is primarily focused on the history and lived experience of North American federally recognized tribal citizens and who exemplifies the art and activism of the artist Edgar Heap of Birds in bringing attention to the lives, struggles and triumphs of Native Americans. The artist in residence will have the opportunity to mentor and advise Tyler students. The residency will culminate in an exhibition to be held in the Edgar Heap of Birds Family Gallery in Temple Contemporary, Tyler’s center for exhibitions and public programs.  

Residency includes:

• $1,500 materials budget
• Opportunity to teach, mentor, and/or advise students
• Access to Temple University’s 4,000,000 volume libraries
• Participation in a solo exhibition
• Stipend of $3,500 per month 

Pezzolo Creative Intensive are a workshop-format training residency for artists eager to refine their craft. Join leading practitioners in Sicily for a 1 - 2 week immersive workshop designed to deepen creative skills and artistic practice. These workshops are scheduled at set points throughout the year, and will be offered in a variety of creative disciplines. With hands-on learning, guided mentorship, and curated cultural experiences, this residency offers a unique opportunity for professional development in a breathtaking setting. Open to artists at all levels; a participation fee is required to attend.

PHOTOGRAPHY RESIDENCY

An art residency provides the technical conditions, time, and space to develop ideas and try new approaches. It is a moment that promotes connection between artists from different backgrounds and consequently the exchange of knowledge and experiences.

Aviário Studio Photography Residency aims to promote the production and dissemination of Photography in its different forms and aesthetics. Artists are invited to focus on their work in a creative and encouraging environment.

We offer the conditions to test possibilities and materialize ideas. On one hand, it can be a moment of transition, more connected to experimentation and research; on the other hand, it can be the point of consolidation of a project translated into the production of a new body of work.

The Respite hosts cultural residencies for creative artists and healing practitioners, prioritizing queer, trans, nonbinary and/or black, indigenous, cultural workers of colors’ working, resting or scheming for our collective liberation.   There is not set price to stay in the Respite Roundhouse, nor specific artist program for funding support.   

The house and land will be open from April through end of July 2025.  Respite in the Round is a custom round treehouse turned land-based retreat offering individuals and small groups a place for rest, connection, creative making, grounding and vision-setting.  

Situated within a rare alluvial forest on a tributary of the Upper Tar River in the Piedmont of North Carolina, The Respite is a small business that operates according to solidarity scale and is in a shared, rematriating relationship with the Jeffries soil sisters who are also farm partner member-owners of Handèwa Farms.  Together, the Respite and the Jeffries soil sisters are building an intentional queer, Black and/or Indigenous-centered community on 23 acres of Rare Occaneechi Saponi Alluvial (R.O.S.A.) land.  We welcome nature-based immersion for artists, healers, cultural organizers and their families taking time for restful or creative resistance.  

The Steel Yard’s Micro-residency program can assist you in growing and strengthening your creative industrial art practice with flexible time commitments. Micro-residencies are an ideal opportunity for you to complete a specific project, commission, or prototype within a limited amount of time. Micro-residencies are available with a one-month minimum commitment, and a three-month maximum commitment.

The Steel Yard supports emerging and mid-career artists working in the industrial-arts: ceramics, welding, blacksmithing, or jewelry. We host one ceramics and one metals micro-resident at a time. Micro-residents receive an all-access pass to our 10,000 square foot studio, tools, resources, and community.

Accepted residents are invited to take, or teach, courses, attend critiques, participate in exhibitions, vend at art markets, be paid to design and fabricate public art work, and be part of a vibrant community of makers.

Residents will be required to sign a contract detailing responsibilities, privileges, studio access, and safety procedures. Residents will also be expected to contribute at least 5 hours of work time to the department monthly, and to participate in organizational fundraisers and departmental clean ups. Upon completion of their term, residents should expect to provide the Steel Yard with 5 images of the work created during their term, or as a direct result of their time at the Yard.
