Monson Arts is an artists' residency and arts center in Monson, Maine. The goal of the residency program is to provide time and space for artists and writers to devote to their creative practices. Residencies are two or four weeks long and come with studio space, a private bedroom in shared housing, all meals and a stipend of $1,000 ($500 for two week programs). Located at the edge of Maine's North Woods near the Appalachian Trail, the town is surrounded by areas of stunning natural beauty.

MacDowell is an artist residency program located in a rural area of Peterborough, New Hampshire.  A Fellowship consists of exclusive use of a studio, bedroom, and three prepared meals a day for up to eight weeks. Artists-in-residence need to be comfortable with a degree of solitude and disconnection from the outside world. Studios are comfortably furnished. There are no residency fees. Applications from artists representing the widest range of perspectives and demographics are encouraged.

Loghaven Artist Residency’s mission is to serve artists by providing them with a transformative residency experience and continued post-residency support. The residency is located on ninety wooded acres in Knoxville, Tennessee. Artists live in rehabilitated historic log cabins and have access to new, purpose-built studio space. The residency is completely funded. All Loghaven Fellows are awarded stipends to support the creation of new work during the residency.

Hyde Park Art Center is a hub for contemporary arts in Chicago, serving as a gathering and production space for artists and the broader community to cultivate ideas, impact social change, and connect with new networks. We offer a comprehensive set of programs that serve the creative and resource needs of artists and our communities. Our programs include exhibitions, public programs, studio art classes, and an international and local residency program for visual artists and curators.

Fountainhead elevates the voices, visibility and value of artists in our society and makes their work accessible in a welcoming and inclusive environment. Offering a year-round residency program, flexible and affordable artists' studios and the annual countywide open studios event Artists Open, Fountainhead empowers artists to build thriving careers while nurturing a community that supports them and their work.

Artists in Residence in Everglades (AIRIE) in partnership with the Everglades National Park, empowers artists to think creatively and critically about their relationship to the environment with a mission of revealing new paths forward.

Since 2001, AIRIE has welcomed over 190 artists, writers, curators, choreographers, musicians and other creatives to its residency program, permeating the national and international art landscape with unique interpretations and stories of the Everglades.

Women’s Studio Workshop envisions a society where women’s visual art is integral to the cultural mainstream and permanently recorded in history. Our mission is to operate and maintain an artists’ workspace that encourages the voice and vision of individual women, trans, intersex, nonbinary and genderfluid artists. 

We provide professional opportunities for artists at various stages of their careers and promote programs designed to stimulate public involvement, awareness, and support.

Willapa Bay AiR is situated on 20 acres in coastal southwest Washington state. We offer month-long, self-directed residencies to emerging and established artists, writers, poets, scholars, singer/songwriters, and musical composers. The Residency provides lodging, meals, and work space, at no cost, to six residents each month from April 1 through October 28 of the year. Applications are evaluated by working artists and professionals in the applicants' respective field.

Participants in the program stay in one of three self-catering cabins located just a quarter-mile beyond the retreat entrance. One of the cabins is completely ADA compliant and another can house two residents working on a project together.  Using the space provided by the three cabins, Wildacres hosts approximately seventy artists each year for one-week residencies from April through October. Residencies begin on Monday afternoons and run until Sunday mornings. 

Mission

The Wassaic Project, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, uses art and arts education to foster positive social change. We nurture connections between our artists and our neighbors facilitating a mutual broadening of perspectives and respect across economic and cultural boundaries.
