Through workshops, residencies, events and a youth arts program the Sitka Center provides time and space for for place-based reflection, inquiry and creation at the intersection of art and ecology.
Sitka Center is located on the Oregon coast and adjacent to the Cascade Head Scenic Research Area, and the Salmon River Estuary. Sitka actively collaborates with the First Peoples of this land who today are represented by the Confederated Tribes of the Siletz Indians and the Confederated Tribes of the Grand Ronde.

For over fifty years the Roswell Artist-in-Residence Program has provided talented artists working in any medium a full year to focus on their creative endeavors. Start dates of the six annual residencies are staggered throughout the year. The residency provides each artist with a comfortable three-bedroom house with an attached 600-square-foot studio with utilities paid. A stipend of $1100 per month is offered along with $100 per month for spouse/partner and each child living at the residency.

In 2012, the Robert Rauschenberg Foundation initiated a multidisciplinary residency program on the site of Rauschenberg's former home and studio in Captiva, Florida.
Inspired by Rauschenberg's early years at Black Mountain College where an artistic community brought out elements central to his art: exploration and collaboration, the residency advances new work, extends practices into diverse mediums, and serves as a research and development lab.
