Residency Programs Profiles

We are excited to announce the evolving relationship between our two technical residency programs that will be concurrently hosted at our partner campus Camp Colton, in fall 2022 and spring 2023.

The Center for Contemporary Printmaking (CCP) Residency Program offers solo Artists-in-Residence the unique opportunity to live and work inside the recently remodeled Helen Frankenthaler Printmaking Cottage.

Located in the heart of Barcelona, ​​Printmaking Barcelona has been, since 1986, an artistic studio for artists to develop their works in the field of chalcographic engraving. Using essential techniques such as monotypes, etching, aquatint, mezzotint, carbourundum among others.

BCA’s Public Art Residency program supports two artists or artist teams each year to activate our public plaza and other areas across BCA campus with interactive, temporary public art.

A retreat-style residency in the Quonset Hut Headquarters in Bakerton, WV.

At its most basic, a residency is a place for someone to live and work. What to work ON is determined by the resident.  

R.A.R.O Barcelona offers an itinerant Artists In Residence program that allows artists to create in the different studios that are part of the R.A.R.O. network in Barcelona.

RADicle is The Croft Residency's collaborative residency with RAD Fest in Kalamazoo, MI. The residency includes a fall residency at The Croft, usually in September, and a performance opportunity the following spring as a featured artist at RAD Fest in Kalamazoo, in early March.

Ragdale is one of the largest interdisciplinary artists’ communities in the country, located 30 miles north of Chicago and accessible locally by Metra train and internationally by O’Hare airport.

In 2012, the Robert Rauschenberg Foundation initiated a multidisciplinary residency program on the site of Rauschenberg's former home and studio in Captiva, Florida.

Members of the Oregon Coast Recorder Society have raised $103,000 to establish a recorder residency at Sitka, beginning in 2003.

Replenish Residencies provides 1-2 week restorative visioning retreats to local BIPOC artists and culture bearers; the heart of New Orleans culture.

Kala's residency program serves over 150 artists annually. International, national, and local artists producing innovative work in printmaking, photography, digital media, film and video, sound, animation, media art installation, and book arts are encouraged to apply.

Rest Retreats at the Respite Roundhouse grant nature-infused rejuvenation and healing for those in need of rest.  Open for booking April - July 2025. Retreatants will choose their own self-directed retreat during seasonal, available dates. $40/per weekday night.

The mission of Rock Street Artist Residency (RSAR) is to provide a unique space for artists to immerse themselves in their creative process, set against the inspiring backdrop of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

The Croft Residency is a small residency on the hill facing South located in Horton Bay Michigan. The residency is on a 20 acre parcel of land on a dead end street. The residency overlooks Lake Charlevoix. Our main studio space is a large outdoor deck for dancing.

For over fifty years the Roswell Artist-in-Residence Program has provided talented artists a year-long opportunity to focus on their creative work. The Roswell Residency is not project-based nor engagement driven, providing the artist an opportunity to look inwardly.

Watershed’s annual Salad Days fundraiser draws art appreciators to campus for a summer celebration of handmade ceramic work and local food.

Established in 1939, Montalvo Arts Center is home to the third oldest residency program in the United States. In 2004, Montalvo recommitted to its support of artists and opened a new, state-of-the-art facility, relaunching as the Sally and Don Lucas Artists Residency Program.

The Santa Fe Art Institute Thematic Residency Program supports dynamic creative practices that engage complex social issues, inspire individual transformation, and inform collective action. SFAI welcomes local, national, and international applicants of all backgrounds.
