This is a live/work residency that is embedded in a small (9-room) hospitality business called Travelers New Orleans. New Orleans, like most cities, has become increasingly unaffordable for artists and others who seek to live creatively. At Travelers New Orleans, artists are provided housing on the third (top) level of a light-filled three-bedroom, two-bath apartment in the Lower Garden District neighborhood. A fourth room is available for office/limited studio space. Artists help run the hospitality business by committing to work about 15 (paid) hours per week, and the hospitality business, in turn, funds the residency. Hours may vary depending on season, but 15 is a solid average. Artists are encouraged to create onsite (there are some space limitations) and there are opportunities to showcase work in the lobby gallery, which looks on out world-famous Magazine Street. The goal of this residency is to provide an affordable, creative, supportive environment for artists at any stage of their careers.

The key element in the Multi-Residency program is the opportunity to create, collaborate and explore different artist spaces in the city during the residency period.
During the Multi-Residency the artists will spend the first two weeks of residency in the Casa R.A.R.O. studios where they will lay out the bases of their project and will have the curatorial guidance of the entire team for the optimal development of their residency. Afterwards, artists will be able to choose between one or two studios from the R.A.R.O. network specialized in different artistic techniques to delve into the technical aspects of the project. This will also allow them to get to know different artistic production spaces in Barcelona, while sharing their projects and generating connections with different artists, curators and other people involved in the artistic and cultural sphere of the city.
Within the studios of the R.A.R.O. network artists will be able to find a wide variety of artistic techniques that vary from the most traditional ones such as painting, sculpture and printmaking, to new media, video art, installation and performance.
The Multi-Residency works as a platform to connect residents with local and international artists, while they work and deepen their work and the professionalization of their artistic career.
Chateau d'Orquevaux is an Award Winning International Artists & Writers Residency running year in France.
Our mission is to create an international environment where all artists are welcome. A safe place to explore, contemplate and share ideas. A place without judgement, where all artists are free of explaining themselves. We aim to empower the creative spirit in its many forms, which in the process, has created a vibrant artistic community.
The Chateau d'Orquevaux Artist Residency emphasizes the human experience and the creative process. The residency creates an environment for the artist in their quest for personal growth and artistic expression, while reinforcing, that the end product is not necessarily the principal focus.
We believe life is a creative journey and consider every moment a part of the process.
New experiences stimulate creativity and revitalize the creative mind. For this reason our residency is self-motivated. The artist must immerse themselves in the French country lifestyle.

Chateau d'Orquevaux offers a respite from "real" world energy. This magnificent estate in the French countryside of Champagne-Ardenne offers artists a place with limited distraction and an abundance of natural inspiration.
Art is an act of expressing feelings, thoughts, and observations. Art, in its broadest sense, is a form of communication. It means whatever the artist intends it to mean, and this meaning is shaped by the materials, techniques, and forms it makes use of, as well as the ideas and feelings it creates in its viewers .
"Artist-in-residence programs and other residency opportunities exist to invite artists, academicians, curators, and all manner of creative people for a time and space away from their usual environment and obligations. They provide a time of reflection, research, presentation and/or production. They also allow an individual to explore his/her practice within another community; meeting new people, using new materials, experiencing life in a new location. Art residencies emphasise the importance of meaningful and multi-layered cultural exchange and immersion into another culture."
The residency is creatively self-motivated with most of the meals provided, so that artists can fully immerse themselves in the environment and the French country lifestyle. There will be about 23/28 artists-in-residence at a time.
All accepted Artists & Writers in Residence will be awarded The Denis Diderot Grant upon acceptance to the program, which will be applied towards partial cost of the residency.
2 week Artist-in-Residence Grant €1,600 (maximum)
3 week Artist-in-Residence Grant €2,400 (maximum)
An additional Emerging Artist Grant is available
All grants will be applied towards cost of residency
Sculpture Space champions the transformative power of contemporary sculpture to shape culture, provoke dialogue, and inspire connection. Through residencies and public programs, we support exceptional artists whose work expands the language of sculpture and engages the world around them. We believe that a robust sculptural practice enriches public life and fosters deeper collective well-being.
Nestled in Utica, New York, Sculpture Space occupies a former industrial site on the edge of the city’s historic downtown—a region once defined by manufacturing and now reimagined through creativity and cultural renewal. The 5,500-square-foot studio combines raw industrial character with modern functionality: 3,800 square feet of open workspace, six semi-private studios, concrete floors, a two-ton traveling hoist system, and extra-wide overhead doors for large-scale fabrication. Outside, artists work on ¾ acres of open land with an outdoor pad and 50-foot monorail hoist, ideal for ambitious projects under the changing Upstate sky.
Artists live just a block away in a renovated multi-level residence that offers private bedrooms, shared living and kitchen spaces, and easy access to the studio. The neighborhood—surrounded by light industry, workshops, and small fabricators—invites collaboration and resourceful making. From this dynamic setting, artists can explore Utica’s growing network of cultural partners, community organizations, and natural landscapes, from the Mohawk River to the foothills of the Adirondacks.
Each year, 20–25 artists are selected for two-month residencies, joining a community that thrives on experimentation, generosity, and exchange. Sculpture Space is more than a studio—it’s a living intersection of art, industry, and imagination.

Since 1976, Sculpture Space has supported the creative growth of more than 630 artists from around the world, offering time, space, and resources to expand their practice in a deeply collaborative setting. Our residency thrives on exchange — between artists, curators, writers, and the broader community — through informal studio visits, shared meals, and conversations that spark new ideas and lifelong connections.
Each cohort culminates in a Works-in-Progress reception, welcoming the public into the studio to experience art in formation and meet the artists behind it. Additional visits are arranged by appointment, inviting ongoing engagement between residents and the community.
Artists are selected by a panel of peers and professionals in the field of contemporary sculpture. Selection is based on the quality, originality, and potential of the applicant’s work and proposal. Accepted artists are notified in March.
Each resident receives a $1,000 stipend to help offset travel and material expenses. Depending on available funding, additional financial assistance may be offered. We encourage artists to seek supplemental support through individual grants and partnerships to make the most of their time in residence.
The Print Studio & Gallery, La Maldita Estampa, is a place created by artists to give support to other artists, focused on the contemporary printmaking process. We created the opportunity and the right conditions to host international artists in Barcelona (Spain) with its Artists in Residence Programme, offering its space formed by a fully equipped workshop and its gallery, an ideal place for the diffusion and promotion of the work of the resident artists.
Addressed to professional artists or artists in training who want to develop their artistic project in a different environment and context, who want to experiment or learn about a specific technique or various graphic techniques, we use traditional and contemporary graphic processes, experimentation is a key factor in contemporary graphics. Our aim is to offer resident artists the resources, support and guidance necessary for the optimal development of their projects. To make the artist feel as if they were in their own studio, working freely, developing, experimenting, researching and achieving the highest quality as a final result. In short, to make their stay a fun, rewarding and productive experience. We receive artists from different artistic disciplines, curators, and national managers and international organizations that are interested in developing their projects in the different techniques of traditional printing process; parallel talks, meetings, visits and exhibitions that complement each of the artistic projects to be developed.
We will be delighted to welcome you in the magical and creative Barcelona :) Location We are located in the heart of Barcelona (Spain) at 112 Aragón Street, a cosmopolitan neighbourhood surrounded by beautiful modernist architecture.
Artist’s portfolio: brief explanation of his/her project (maximum 30 lines and maximum 5 recent photographs, PDF format), proposed timetable for the realisation of the project, with dates of arrival and departure, in order to better organise his/her stay, specification of the techniques involved in the creative process.
